I love my job! I am so blessed to be able to say that and mean it deep down. God has given me the opportunity to be creative on a daily basis, interact with amazing people and get my hands dirty. About four years ago I was in a small group studying a little book by the name of The Purpose Driven Life written by Rick Warren. You may have heard of it. During that study I found myself taking a closer look at where I was spending my time. I had just become familiar with a new technique in working in silver that I was excited about and I had a few years experience working on and producing jewelry for the Natural Family Boutique catalog. I prayed that God would give me a glimpse of where He wanted me spending my time with so many avenues to explore. Truly and desperately, I wanted to somehow be in service to Him. This answer came quickly. I felt so clearly that I was to start using the skills He had given me "for Him". Not sure what that meant exactly, I started working on "Christian" pieces. I felt drawn to creating unusual, narrative Christian jewelry. Pieces that would give the wearer an opportunity to share their faith.
So a few years along, on these tiny silver canvases, I do my very best to remind the wearer of a verse or the beauty of Christ's love for us. Your kind words keep me going and your stories of sharing these pieces as gifts and testimonies add to the joy of the work. I hope to be doing this for many years to come. I pray God will continue to lead me and bless this little business because I really love my job!
